What do the most important American football game of the year and a British singer, multiple Grammy Award-winner Adele have in common? If you think nothing, think again. During her concert in Los Angeles on Saturday (Aug.13), The “Hello” singer responded to rumors and told the audience she was asked to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show but turned the offer down.
“First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no.“
The very next day National Football League (NFL) and Pepsi released a statement and denied rumors that they ever formally offered Adele to perform at the biggest gig this February in Houston’s NRG stadium.
“The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. ” – They said, according to Billboard.
So, did Adele really turn down the offer or she wasn’t even offered it in the first place? What are your thoughts? Let us know @CelebMix
