Previously, we reported that Waylon has been revealed as the participant for Netherlands for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018. Now, Azerbaijan too has announced its act for the contest.
AISEL has been announced as the representative for Azerbaijan. The news of her participation was revealed via Ictimai TV.
Aysel Teymurzadeh aka AISEL is a pop and R&B singer. Like Waylon, she too is has previously participated in the competition, finishing third amongst 25 performers. AISEL represented her country and performed “Always” in collaboration with Arash.
She is well known for her Jazz style and sultry voice. But AISEL isn’t just a singer, she is also a pianist and a composer.
She belongs to a family of musicians and has been an active performer throughout her life. She has performed at festivals such as the Caspian Jazz & Blues Festival (2002), the Baku International Jazz festival (2005 & 2006), the MuzEnergo Festival of Music Improvisation (2007), Montreux Jazz Festival (2009), and the Caucasus Jazz Festival (2012), and is also a member of the Baku Jazz Centre.
It will be interesting to see what she brings to the table at Eurovision Song Contest.
Considering that countries are leaving no stone unturned to bring forth their best singers, it seems that this year, fans will get to experience a top notch competition.
