Country star Chris Stapleton is back with his brand new LP ‘From A Room: Volume 1’. This record is Stapelton’s sophomore release following his debut album ‘Traveller’ back in 2015. The new collection features 9 new songs and really sets the soul/country singer apart from the rest.
His voice is extremely soulful with a touch of country twang that leaves a blissful feeling. If you’re into more modern pop/country then this isn’t for you but if you like old-school country or are just looking to broaden your musical tastes then definitely give this LP a spin.
For me the standout track on ‘From A Room: Volume 1’ is the more uptempo track titled ‘Second One To Know’. This to me has more of a fun lyrical base and the beat has a very toe-tapping feel to it.
Another standout on the album is a song called ‘Either Way’ it is a really stunning track and one that showcases Chris Stapleton’s impressive vocal prowess.
Overall ‘From A Room Volume 1’ is a rather old-school LP and one that takes a few listens to get into, but it is a very well made album and features some amazing country gems. Chris Stapleton has proved he is not just a one hit wonder with this record and I am sure he will go from strength to strength over the next few years.
The full album tracklist is as follows:
Broken Halos
Last Thing I Needed First Thing This Morning
Second One To Know
Up To No Good Livin’
Either Way
I Was Wrong
Without Your Love
Them Stems
Death Row
RATING: 3/5.
