Ansel Elgort covers Sam Smith’s ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’

Ansel Elgort has got us all feeling pretty emotional right now after posting a short cover of Sam Smith’s song ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ on Instagram.

In an effortless performance, Ansel sits at his piano singing the chorus of ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’, Sam Smith’s newest release and his longest-running UK Number One. If we didn’t love this song enough already, we’re totally obsessed with it now. Ansel’s heart-wrenching rendition had us hooked. We only wish he’d cover the whole song. Studio version, anyone?

Captioning the video, Ansel described the single as “My fav song atm” and confessed his love for Sam Smith along with a crying emoji. Yep, we’re crying too, Ansel.

This isn’t the first time Ansel has been linked to the British singer. He has previously tweeted about being a fan and the two were weirdly pitted against each other in a battle for the best navy blue suit.

Okay we get it, Ansel. Does anyone else feel better knowing that Hollywood stars can also be in fandoms just like us?

Primarily known as an actor, Ansel is also a singer and DJ and has released various singles on his YouTube channel, so this Sam Smith cover comes as no surprise to his fans. The release of the single ‘Thief’ and the accompanying music video firmly positioned Ansel as a music artist in his own right, impressing with his raw vocal talent.

In addition to posting music online, Ansel regularly uses his Instagram following for good, raising awareness about charitable efforts.

Most recently, he has involved his almost 9 million followers in fundraising for the Bob Woodruff Foundation for army veterans, the Love Army Mexico GoFundMe for the “heroes” helping after the Mexican earthquake, and the Elephant Crisis Fund to prevent the extinction of elephants in the wild.
