With the auditions stage of the show almost complete, viewers of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ were certainly not let down with the level of talent during the fifth week of auditions. Featuring tap dancers to singers to magicians, the level of talent on the show continues to rise week after week – and this makes us even more excited for the Live Semi Finals! The show is presented by TV presenting duo Ant and Dec and the judging panel consists of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Here at CelebMix, we review some of our favourite auditions from the fifth week of auditions on ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’
1. Matt Edwards (Magician)
34 year old Matt Edwards impressed the Judges. He particularly impressed Ant and Dec so much that they hit the Golden Buzzer for him – meaning that he has a place in Live Semi Finals! David Walliams said he was ‘loved that he could push jokes as far as they possibly could go until they almost break.’ We can’t wait to see what Matt Edwards has in store for the Live Semi Finals, which kick off very soon!
2. Jamie Lee Harrison (Singer)
Singer Jamie Lee Harrison impressed everyone with his emotional, powerful and incredibly moving version of ‘Everybody Hurts.’ He received a standing ovation from the audience and Judges. Alesha described his audition as ‘really soulful, a beautiful vocal and honest.’ He sailed through to the next round, with all four Judges giving him a yes. They were shocked by his incredible, soulful voice, with Simon saying that Jamie was the exact person he strives to find when making a show such as ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’
3. Tyrone and Mina (Knife Throwing Duo)
Originating from Spain and Argentina, the duo stated that they ‘like to do dangerous things.’ Their audition had the audience and Judges in suspense, gasping at their tricks. The most dangerous part of their performance came when Tyrone threw knives that were on fire to a board where Mira was centred. Amanda said that she could easily envision their performance on the Live Semi Finals. The duo sailed through to the next round, and we can’t wait to see what they do next!
4. Angelicus Celtis (Choir)
Welsh choir Angelicus Celtis wanted to make their teacher Mr Williams proud. He unfortunately lost his wife and was left injured following a car accident. Before their audition, one member of the choir, when asked what made Mr Williams so special, said that prior to his accident, ‘he fought back to be there for us and make Angelicus happen.’ Their audition earned them a well-deserved standing ovation from the Judges and audience.
5. Des Dillon and Puppet Peigi (Puppet Dance Routine)
Let’s admit, Britain’s Got Talent is a variety show. There are weird and wacky performances to say the least, but this performance from Des Dillon and his puppet Peigi made us laugh! Unfortunately, the Judges didn’t take to his performance very well and they all hit their buzzers, meaning that his performance was put to a swift end. But he brought the humour factor and that’s partly what the show is all about.
