James Corden joined Coldplay on stage in California last night (August 21st) to perform a cover of Prince’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’.
The Late Late Show host was invited on stage by Chris Martin at The Hollywood Rose Bowl to sing the song made famous by Sinead O’Connor.
Corden, who turns 38 today (August 22nd), told the crowd “We’re here at the Rose Bowl, I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how big it was when I said, ‘yes’.”
“I’m a little nervous, but thanks to the four of you on behalf of this audience, for this incredible night that you have given us all.”
Chris Martin then told the crowd “This next one goes out to Prince everybody. It’s very important.”
After the performance, Chris presented James with a birthday cake and asked the crowd to sing ‘Happy Birthday’.
This is not the first time Corden and Coldplay have sung together.
Earlier in the year Chris took part in ‘Carpool Karaoke’ a hugely popular segment on The Late Late Show, which James hosts.
During the ride along the pair sang Coldplay songs ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’, ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’, ‘Yellow’, ‘Viva La Vida’ and as a tribute to David Bowie, ‘Heroes’.
Coldplay are currently on a massive world tour in support of their latest album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’.
