Demi Lovato decided to take a DNA and ancestry test and was thrilled to know that she is Spanish, Native American, Scandinavian, and 1% African.
The 24-year-old singer shared the news of her results on Twitter:
I did a DNA test and found out I'm mainly Spanish, with Native American, SCANDINAVIAN (which I had NO idea), Irish, BRITISH….

However, the popstar, who like many other stars, has often been the target of internet trolls. After her tweets, she received much hate for pointing out that she has a bit of African DNA in her.

At first, she thought people were being rude to her without reason, but then she explained herself after a fan made her understand the reason behind the mockery and hate she received.
Just thought it was cool and totally random. Some of y'all are mean af. Twitter sucks. ?

“I also included the other nationalities. But I understand and respect your point of view and didn’t mean to offend anyone,” she tweeted to the fan.
She did, however, get some kind responses, while YouTube-star Kingsley defended her case:
