Sarah Darling is a 34-year-old country music singer originally from Des Moines, Iowa, U.S. but is now based in Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently on tour in the UK as the opening act for the UK’s record breaking country music band Ward Thomas.
Way back in 2003, Sarah Darling first became known to the public after she was a top-three finalist on E! Entertainment Television’s reality show The Entertainer, which was hosted by Wayne Newton. Unfortunately she was not crowned the winner of the show as Newton thought she was not right for Las Vegas and instead advised her to move to Nashville to focus on country music.
After the show ended Sarah Darling headed into the recording studio in the summer of 2008 to record her debut album, ‘Every Monday Morning’, which she dropped on June 16th, 2009.
Her debut single ‘Jack of Hearts’ was a big success and made its debut on Country Music Television’s top 20 countdown.
Her second LP, ‘Angels & Devils’, was released two years later on February 15th, 2011.
Before ‘Angels & Devils was released, Sarah dropped the lead single ‘Something to Do With Your Hands’ and a also released a cover of U2’s ‘With or Without You’.
In late 2012, Darling then released a new single called ‘Home to Me’, It sold over 8,000 copies in the first week of release making it the top selling digital single from a new female artist since May 2011 when Lauren Alaina released ‘Like My Mother Does’.
‘Home to Me’ also became Sarah Darling’s very first single to chart on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, reaching an impressive peak of number 34.
Despite the success of her previous releases, after she dropped a digital EP, titled ‘Home to Me’, on January 29th, 2013, Darling, and record label Black River Entertainment parted ways.
She then released her track ‘Little Umbrellas’ independently on June 4th, 2013 to digital retailers.
Darling was also a contestant on ABC’s Rising Star’s very first season back in 2014, but was eliminated in the fourth week. But it wasn’t all bad news for the country singer, after her elimination from the competition Brad Paisley, who was one of the show’s judges, invited her to perform with him at the prestigious Grand Ole Opry.
