This weekend, over 35 of your favourite YouTubers and performers will be taking over Birmingham’s Genting Arena for HelloWorld Live. From Joe Sugg to Caspar Lee, Louise Pentland to Alfie Deyes, we’re super excited for all our internet faves to be together in one place.
But ‘what is HelloWorld?’ we hear you ask? Well, it’s a very unique event which will bring you closer to your favourite creators. During the day, attendees will be able to wander around the Main Street, where they can expect everything from gaming to baking. Who knows where you might spot your favourite YouTuber? By the evening, there’ll be an awesome party in the Emoji House, complete with musical performances. Best day ever, right?
If you need a little more convincing, we recently spoke to the terrific twins Niki & Sammy for the lowdown on what we can expect from HelloWorld.
First off, how excited are you for HelloWorld Live?
We’re super excited! The HelloWorld team approached us at the start of the year with this awesome idea for an event which allowed us to meet our viewers in a whole new way which we just couldn’t turn down.
HelloWorld has been described as “an immersive live show like nothing on Earth”, but how would you describe it in your own words?
Most vlogger events don’t really give our viewers, or us, an experience beyond queues for meet and greets. Where HelloWorld differs is that it will give our audience a chance to get involved in ways they haven’t been able to before, and it’ll give Niki and I a chance to do what we do best; entertain (or at least try)!
Can you tell us a little about what you’ll personally be doing on the day?
As always we like to get stuck in, so I think the better question will be ‘what won’t we be doing over the weekend’! Without giving too much away though, I can say that slime is on the cards (great), and so is a giant arcade game – imagine Tetris but you’re an ant. We’re also really excited to say we’ll be showing up on-stage with quite a few friends over the two days, too. Take a large emoji house, add some very confused YouTubers into the mix… and you still won’t be any closer to working out what it is.
The day will be a YouTuber extravaganza – who are you most looking forward to catching up with?
Of course Rose and Rosie, Lucy and Lydia, who were our fellow Radio 1 Teen Award nominees with us this past weekend at Wembley Stadium! It’s actually going to be great to see everyone; we don’t often get to see all of our YouTube friends in one room as we’re all so busy so it’ll be nice to catch up doing something we love. For example, we haven’t been able to catch up with Louise and her growing human for ages, but she’s asked us to help out in one of her shows (I say ‘help’, but I think ‘sabotage’ would be more accurate).
Team YouTube! What an honour it was being nominated with these guysssssss! Congratulations @RoseEllenDix @RoxeteraRibbons! #TeenAwards ? pic.twitter.com/5tEHVDIXK6

Are there any YouTubers that you’ll be meeting for the first time?
We’ve only been uploading to our channel for around 3 and ½ years so compared to some channels we’re still quite new on the scene, but we’re friends or have worked with most people on the line up in some way before! The UK has a very close, strong YouTube community.
You’re no stranger to events such as conventions which allow you to meet your loyal viewers. How important is it for you to be able to give back to your fans?
We love any opportunity which allows us to meet viewers real world. ‘Niki and Sammy’ isn’t a YouTube channel, it’s us and everything we do! We wouldn’t be able to do half of the amazing things we do without the support and encouragement of our viewers so it’s very important we invest as much time and energy into them as possible!
For anyone who’s yet to buy their tickets, why should they come to HelloWorld?
We’ve been to plenty of events, but this is honestly shaping up to be the most exciting one we’ve been involved with!
Thank you to Niki & Sammy for their time! Make sure you bag the last remaining tickets for HelloWorld from the official website before it’s too late.
