This wicked Disney film is one of our favourites, with amazing musical numbers including the chart-worthy “Rotten To The Core”. This is one film you must watch.

With the sequel expected to be released in 2017, Disney has dropped this short trailer:

The trailer confirms that Ursula’s daughter, Uma, will become part of the main cast. She will be played by China Anne McClain, who is mostly known for playing Chyna Parks in Disney Channel teen sitcom A.N.T. Farm. She also sang “Night Is Young” on the Descendants Soundtrack.

This new addition to the cast will create quite the splash, furthermore we expect to see Ursula and Ariel amongst other characters from The Little Mermaid. Just imagine the descendant of Ariel and Prince Eric; they just have to include this character.

Other characters expected to make an appearance in Descendants 2 are the children of Captain Hook and Gaston. Casting is underway for these roles.

Dove Cameron, Cameron Boyce, Booboo Stewart, Sofia Carson and Mitchell Hope will reprise their roles as Mal, Carlos, Jay, Evie and Prince Ben respectively.

Kenny Ortega will return as director, executive producer and choreographer. His other works include the High School Musical franchise and the upcoming 2016 film The Rocky Horror Picture Show, amongst others.

Production starts soon, and the title characters will be travelling to the Isle of the Lost according to this tweet:
