Simon Cowell’s Grenfell Tower charity single will now be released on Wednesday (June 21st).
The single, a cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ was originally intended to be released today, however reports now suggest we will have to wait until later in the week to hear what Cowell has been working on.
Over the weekend a variety of musical stars were photographed heading into a recording studio in Notting Hill to lay down their vocals on the track.
Stars set to feature on the record include Rita Ora, Craig David, Pixie Lott, James Blunt, Louis Tomlinson, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Matt Terry, Leona Lewis, Carl Barat, Ella Eyre, Kelly Jones and Tulisa Contostavlos.
Speaking of his plans to record a single to raise money for the families and victims of last week’s devastating blaze in North Kensington, Simon said “until that last note has been finished, we will not be off the phone.”
“We started 24 hours ago and already we’re getting calls coming in, mainly from Brits.”
“A lot of London artists, people like Skepta, Stormzy, Emeli Sande, The London Community Gospel Choir, all wanted to be involved.”
Good Morning Britain’s Philippa Tomson who was seen interviewing many of the stars, including Cowell, over the weekend tweeted earlier “Artists For Grenfell charity single – available for download on Wed from 8am.”

There had been rumours earlier today that Celine Dion was set to join the project.
However Philippa says that scheduling conflicts have made it impossible to happen.
“I’m told Celine Dion desperately wanted to take part” Tomson tweeted.
“But conflicting schedules couldn’t be overcome.”
