Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: Meet the Malfoys

Cursed Child

The third set of cast pictures from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have been unveiled. Following the reveal of the Potters and the Granger-Weasleys earlier this week, we have now been introduced to the Malfoys.

The first look pictures have revealed Alex Price and Anthony Boyle in costume as Draco and Scorpius Malfoy respectively.

J.K. Rowling has expressed her delight at how similar Alex and Anthony look as the Malfoy father and son. She said: “I love Draco and Scorpius – they actually look related!”

However, in order to transform into Scorpius, Anthony had to go blonde. Of his new look, he said “It was such a game changer. As soon as I saw it, it was like, “Okay, I’m playing Scorpius Malfoy – this is real now.” That was such a big moment.”

Alex spoke about the pressure behind being part of such an enormous production as well as taking on the infamous role of Draco Malfoy. He said: “The world outside has been brilliantly marshalled and been kept away from us by our producers. It’s only slowly starting to rear its head now and it’s intimidating, a little scary, but also very exciting because Jack is such a brilliant writer and he’s taken the story into a great place 19 years later, particularly for Draco.”

Anthony added: “You can just feel the excitement in the building. We’ve been in the Palace Theatre for over four weeks now which is where we can do all the things you couldn’t do in the rehearsal room. We just can’t wait to show it to everyone.”

With only a few more days until the first public preview of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, we can’t wait to see what the new era of Harry Potter will bring us. What new adventures will Harry, Ron, Hermione and Draco be involved in? What houses will Albus, Rose and Scorpius be sorted into? There’s so much to be revealed and we’re excited for it all.
