It wouldn’t be an awards show without some kind of controversy, would it?!
The iHeartRadio awards took place last night (April 3rd) and the host organization are being slammed for supposedly rigging one of the most anticipated gongs of the night, ‘Best Fan Army.’
Justin Bieber’s fans, more commonly known as ‘Beliebers’ took the crown after weeks of social media voting. This result has angered the likes of Directioners, Harmonizers and 5SOSFam as they claim that all three of them had more overall votes than the Beliebers.
As a result, the other fan bases have banded together to create a worldwide trend on twitter, #iFakeAwards to vent their disappointment that all of the hard work had gone to waste.
We were not informed that the winner must be on the 4th place ? #iFakeAwards pic.twitter.com/RNJD09XRIT

If they are going to give the award to the artist they want, what's the point of asking us to vote?? #iFakeAwards

Other fans are claiming that Justin won the award because he was the only one of the top contenders who was present at the live recording of the show. Bieber also took home the award ‘Male Artist of the Year’ and performed ‘Company’ and ‘Love Yourself.’
The members of 5 Seconds of Summer were quick to assure their loyal fan base that they don’t need an award to prove that they are the best.
