Gino D’Acampo and Melanie Sykes begin their countdown to Christmas with useful get-ahead recipes, tips and short-cuts for the big day. On the menu is Chocolate Christmas Pudding with Brandy Custard and Salted Caramel Ice Cream, a Giant Seafood Platter and some simple ideas for party nibbles: Pea and Pecorino Crostini and Feta and Sundried Tomato Pinwheels. Gino faces a festive challenge and Cheryl Fergison is today’s celebrity guest.

Monday 16 December

Gino and Mel continue their guide to a stress-free Christmas. Today they show how to make Last Minute Christmas Cake and how to use up your leftovers in a Turkey & Ham Pie. For anyone who fancies something a little bit different for their Christmas lunch Gino also shows how roast a goose. Today’s guest is Sally Lindsay.

Tuesday 17 December

Gino and Mel serve up a Pork Wellington and Christmas Pudding Souffles for their guest Christopher Biggins. Gino shows how to save time on Christmas Day by making gravy in advance and he faces another festive challenge.

Wednesday 18 December

Gino and Mel are joined by ex-Westlife star Shane Filan as they continue their countdown to the big day. On the menu is an amazing Roast Crown of Lamb with Mint Jelly, some delicious Profiteroles with Chocolate Sauce and an apricot, chilli and walnut stuffing you can make and freeze in advance of your Christmas lunch.

Thursday 19 December

Singers Melanie C and Matt Cardle are today’s lunch guests. On the menu is a make ahead starter of Fish Soup, some Turkey Enchiladas as well as two party nibble ideas: Marinated Mozzarella Balls with Parma Ham and Sausages Glazed in Cranberry Sauce. Plus Gino faces another festive challenge.

Friday 20 December

Gino and Mel continue their guide to a stress-free Christmas. Today they are making Black Forest Gateau Trifle and Roast Pork with Pear Gravy. Gino also demonstrates how to cook perfect roast parsnips and Brussels sprouts. Today’s guest is Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood.
