In the world of online media comes many positive things but with it many negative things as well. This includes cyberbullying, threats, violence, etc. Fortunately for us, there are still kind people in this world that are quick to defend others when they are attacked for whatever reason. Today we take our lens to anti-bullying advocate Jesy Nelson.
Recently on an Instagram post, an Instagram individual was seen posting a back shot picture of Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke saying “Bikinis aren’t meant for some people and @allybrookeofficial is an example. Like put that thing away you look like a Shamu”.
Jesy commented on a Instagram post about body shaming Ally from 5H. pic.twitter.com/Ld8K6utQjg

Another user then fired back stating how societies views on bodies are to this day so wayward and that this kind of behavior showcases why girls of all ages are so insecure about themselves. Jesy Nelson then responded with a nod of agreement as well as liking the post made defending Ally. In fact, this act of defense is very heartwarming considering the fact that Little Mix’s Jesy Nelson was a constant victim of cyberbullying and body shaming during her time on the X-Factor and completely understands what it feels to be victimized in such a manner.
Jesy Nelson is a fearless hero indeed. She’s grown and knows how to handle those mean-spirited bigots. Her growth led fellow Mixers to run an anti-bullying charity drive inspired by Jesy. You can learn more about the cause and donating by clicking here! All proceeds will go to ‘Ditch The Label’ – “one of the UK’s most innovative anti-bullying charities: working passionately across the country to advice and support to those impacted by bullying”. Any amount helps!
