2017 has been a sensational year for Luis Fonsi. Thanks to his global phenomenon ‘Despacito’, which has dominated the charts and is the most watched video in YouTube history, Luis has very much been at the forefront of igniting people’s love for Latin music.
Now, Luis is ready to impact on the charts once more, and this time he’s teamed up with one of the hottest female vocalists on the block. ‘Échame La Culpa’ was released today, and features the one and only Demi Lovato. She has also had a superb 2017, which included receiving her first Grammy nomination, releasing her sixth studio album Tell Me You Love Me, unveiling a YouTube documentary and announcing a 2018 tour.
‘Échame La Culpa’ (Blame Me) is a Spanish-English song which is going to make you yearn for the summer months. Tinged with an infectious Caribbean rhythm, the track highlights Luis’ slick voice whilst Demi has the opportunity to showcase her Spanish skills and powerhouse vocals. Luis and Demi’s voices blend perfectly together, creating a hypnotic offering which you’ll want to play on repeat.
Speaking about working with Demi, Luis said: “Recording with Demi was a wonderful experience and what thrilled me the most was her desire to sing in Spanish and how perfectionist she was with the pronunciation of the lyrics. Musically speaking she is perfect, which made it the easiest vocal production I’ve ever done in my career.”
Alongside the track, the pair have released a sizzling music video. Filmed in Brooklyn, the visual was directed by Carlos Perez, who was also responsible for video for ‘Despacito’. There are plenty of party vibes during the visual, with Luis showing off his moves whilst Demi looks phenomenal in several outfits.
