After much speculation regarding when the hit television drama, Pretty Little Liars, will end, we might finally have a solid answer.
The mysterious and highly addictive series revolving around a creepy stalker known as “A,” has been on the air for 6 years now! “A” has been tormenting the liars ever since the disappearance of one of their best friends, but this could be coming to rest sooner than we thought. The show began on June 8, 2010 and has continued to amaze viewers ever since, but as the mysteries slowly begin to unravel, and many pressing questions are answered, it may be time for this iconic show to come to an end.
There have been many rumors surrounding the end of this popular series for years now, but as the season 7 summer premiere draws near, these rumors are the talk of the web. Pretty Little Liars will finally be back on Tuesday, June 21, and we could not be more excited. Then again, we don’t want to rush the inevitable last season.
This has once again been brought to light, this time by Troian Bellisario’s fiancé, Patrick J. Adams. Bellisario, better known as the brainy and witty little liar Spencer Hastings, and Adams have been together as long as the show has been running. Oh, and if you’re as into the show as we are, you’ll remember that time when Adams guest starred in ‘PLL’ as Ezra Fitz’s college buddy!
The Suits star decided to finally clue in fans on the shows ending, and we don’t know how to feel! While at the ATX TV Festival, Adams talked to HollywoodLife about his relationship with Troian, and her show. Adams stated, “I’m really excited to be married to Troian! We’ve been together a long time, it’s long overdue. Our relationship, it basically expands the length of our shows. Our anniversary is the day she got back from shooting the pilot of Pretty Little Liars. She got home and we had our first date together. So the fact that the show is coming to an end this year, and after that we’ll be hopefully be walking to getting married and starting the next chapter of our lives together, it’s pretty cool.”
Did you hear that? The show is set to end this year. We don’t know if we’re extremely sad about not seeing the liars track down “A” every Tuesday or just really excited to finally know the truth surrounding Rosewood. Probably a lot of both.
HollywoodLife also received a comment from Freeform where they stated that, “This is the end of ‘PLL’ as we know it. This will be a very suspenseful season with reveals nearly each week, like nothing we’ve seen before. There has been no official decision made for ‘PLL’ beyond a season 7.” We guess this means there’s still hope for more scary text messages, big reveals, and crazy plot twists, but we won’t know for sure until it happens.
Executive producer and writer of Pretty Little Liars, I. Marlene King, recently retweeted an article addressing the networks statement on the fate of this series, but we are still unsure of the exact time this thrilling drama will stop. All we know is that whenever ‘PLL’ does officially end, we will be heartbroken to see the liars go, but we can’t wait to see what opportunities await them following the series.
