PVRIS Release Their Video For “Smoke”

Unexpectedly, alternative band PVRIS (pronounced Paris) took to social media to announce that they released their newest music video for “Smoke!”  On PVRIS’ official social media outlets, the announcement said, “Surprise! watch our new music video for Smoke,” along with a YouTube link to the video.

“Smoke” is off of PVRIS’ 2014 album White Noise, yet the band is still getting recognized for the debut album.  We can’t complain though, the record is filled with lyrics that are empowering to their audience, sung by front woman Lynn Gunn.

Towards the beginning of the song there’s a line where Lynn sings, “You said, “don’t you try to run right now / ’cause baby I could burn you down.””

After hearing those lyrics, it feels as though someone is threatening her, or there was a conflict going on.  One of our favorite lines in the song that takes a comeback at those lyrics is when Lynn sings, “You’re just a ghost of blissful feelings / A cloud of smoke that I keep breathing / An illusion, I’m losing you to the games in my mind.”

If it was up to us, we’d definitely love to see some more music videos off of White Noise!  No matter how old it is, the album is too impassioned and well-done in our opinion to stop being recognized for its intellectual creativity.
