Canadian country music legend Shania Twain has only just re-launched her illustrious singing career after losing her voice due to a battle with Lyme’s disease, but she is already looking at other career options.
The 51-year-old made her music comeback with the catchy, feelgood summer anthem ‘Life’s About To Get Good‘ back in, June-her first single in six years. The track is the lead song off Twain’s upcoming album ‘Now‘, which is her first studio release in fifteen years. The eagerly anticipated LP will be available worldwide from September 29th.
Along with the release of her new music, Shania also confirmed that there will be a tour in 2018, and she will visit the UK with her new live-show.
But it’s not only music that Shania Twain has been making in recent times. The hitmaker has also been dipping her toe into the acting world and recently made her screen debut on the US sitcom Broadcity which will be broadcast later this year. The multi-talented star obviously impressed producers with her acting skills as she has now been snapped up to appear in a Hollywood blockbuster.
According to The Sun Newspaper, Twain will star alongside movie legend John Travolta in a action flick titled Trading Paint. The film will see Travolta play a veteran racing driver drawn back to the track to compete against his son, in an increasingly intense and dangerous rivalry.
A source spoke to The Sun about Shania’s new movie role and return to the music industry, saying: “Shania is one of the world’s best songwriters and has no problems feeling and connecting with emotions. Until now she has expressed that in her songs but she is ready for a new challenge and is giving acting a go. The past ten years have been tough for Shania. After the breakdown of her marriage in 2008 she feared she would never sing again. But she has recovered from that and is back stronger than ever. Her new album proves that, and so will her acting talent.”
Shania Twain will start shooting her scenes in Birmingham, Alabama, this August with Trading Paint due to hit cinemas next June.
