51-year-old Shania Twain was looking absolutely stunning last night as she attended the annual Billboard Women in Music Awards in New York City! The country music sensation was in attendance to accept her ‘Icon Award’.
The legendary ‘Come on Over’ hitmaker was honoured by Billboard for her amazing contribution to the music industry; Shania Twain is the best selling female in country music of all time.
US singer and former Jonas Brothers star Nick Jonas had the honour of presenting the prestigious award to his “first crush” .
The hunky 24-year-old who was wearing a smart grey suit was more than happy to present his idol with her icon award, and before handing the gong to Twain, he had the last word saying;
“To all the mean kids at school who made fun of me for singing Man! I Feel Like a Woman, suck it – I’m getting a hug.”
Shania Twain welcomed Nick Jonas to the stage with a warm embrace and cupped his smiling face in her hands.
During her acceptance speech the Canadian superstar admitted she doesn’t always feel like a diva, saying:
“I don’t always feel brave, I don’t always feel courageous and confident, but on a day like today, celebrating women who have come so far in the industry — we all know the only way to get here is by dreaming, working really, really hard and being courageous.”
After the ceremony Nick Jonas who has admitted in the past that Shania Twain was his first crush and a big influence on his own music career, took to Instagram to gush about his evening with the ‘From This Moment On’ singer.

Fans of the Queen of country wont have to wait much longer for new music as she has confirmed her first album since the 2002 ‘Up!’ will be released in early 2017.
Speaking to Billboard magazine about the new record, she said the new LP “was an emotional roller-coaster, and the lyrics reflect that.”
