Twenty-somethings everywhere rejoiced this week as Busted announced not only would they be reuniting with all three members – James Bourne, Matt Willis, and Charlie Simpson – but they were also going on a reunion tour in the UK next year. However; the announcement left fans wondering if McFly were also going to come back.
In a video posted to his YouTube channel on Sunday entitled “Dear Carrie: The One When I Mention The ‘M’ Word” Tom addressed the future of the band. He neither confirmed nor denied that McFly would be releasing their own music again any time soon, saying “I’m getting flooded with messages about another band called McFly. Don’t worry, we’re still a band everyone, we’ve always been a band. We just don’t know what we’re doing yet.”
He continued by mentioning the promised ‘album six’ that fans have been waiting for for almost three years, saying “I just don’t have answers for you right now.”
Tom’s McFly bandmates Danny Jones, Harry Judd, and Dougie Poynter are yet to comment on the future of the band. In Tom’s own words, “Let’s just be happy for Busted for a while, and then we’ll see what happens.”
