Over the weekend, thousands of music fans made their way to London’s O2 Arena for Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball.
We witnessed the action for ourselves, and recapped our favourite moments from night one earlier today. Now it’s time to take a look at night two in more detail. Here’s our top ten moments from Sunday’s show!
10. Louisa channels her inner Belieber
Former X Factor winner Louisa was the only act to perform on both nights of Jingle Bell Ball. As well as fierce performances of ‘Tears’ and ‘So Good’, Louisa stripped things back for a beautiful cover of Justin Bieber’s ‘Love Yourself’.
9. Jonas Blue gets the crowd dancing
Jonas Blue delivered some of his awesome dance tunes, and brought out a series of guest singers too. One of our favourite moments was when he introduced JP Cooper to the stage to sing ‘Perfect Strangers’!
8. Years and Years cover is in colourful streamers
As usual, Years and Years delivered a high energy performance, including some of their biggest hits. We loved the dancing, but also appreciated when it was all stripped back. However, our favourite moment was their finale song, ‘King’, complete with rainbow coloured streamers.
7. Sigma and Birdy take to the stage
DJs Sigma got the crowd bouncing on the night, with a string of their hit tracks. For their latest offering, ‘Find Me’, they introduced songstress Birdy to the stage. The result? An absolutely electric performance!
6. The Vamps keep us up All Night
The Vamps are no strangers to Jingle Bell Ball, and once again they delivered an incredibly high energy set. From ‘Can We Dance?’ featuring a surprise dab from Capital’s Roman Kemp, to Brad’s cheeky antics, the boys made sure that everyone was up on their feet dancing. Our favourite bit was getting to hear them perform their new song ‘All Night’ live, which is already proving to be a great singalong track.
5. Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha – In The Name Of Love
Who better to close the show than the world’s number one DJ, Martin Garrix? Following a high energy performance, including a fantastic light and pyrotechnics show, Martin finished his set with ‘In The Name Of Love’, along with special guest Bebe Rexha. It also gave Martin an opportunity to come away from the decks, and to see the crowd from the front of the stage.
4. James Arthur gets the crowd singing, and declares his love for Ariana Grande
James Arthur performed a three track acoustic set for the Jingle Bell Ball audience. We adored his performance of ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ and ‘Impossible’, both of which were sung back to him word-for-word by the loving audience. He also treated us to a cover of Ariana Grande’s ‘Into You’, mashed up with R Kelly’s ‘Ignition’. When introducing the song, James declared his love for Ari and hoped that she would come across his cover…we’ve got our fingers crossed for you James!
3. Ellie Goulding is back with a vengeance
Oh how we’ve missed the wonderful Ellie Goulding. Back with a bang, she delivered a flawless JBB performance full of pitch perfect vocals and energetic dance moves. Ellie took on several of her biggest hits, including newest single ‘Still Falling For You’, which you might have heard on the Bridget Jones’ Baby soundtrack. The highlight of her set however, was a purely magical performance of her biggest hit to date, ‘Love Me Like You Do’.
2. DNCE rock the stage
Nobody knows how to start a party better than DNCE. The four-piece opened the second night of Jingle Bell Ball and rocked out SO. HARD. Among their original tracks, they also did a cover of ‘No Scrubs’/’Hold On We’re Going Home’. Joe, JinJoo, Cole and Jack were incredibly lively, and we were super impressed with their whole performance. However, ‘Cake By The Ocean’ was the cherry on top. From JinJoo and Cole’s guitar solos to the audience singing along, it was epic from start to finish.
1. Shawn Mendes – Stitches
There was only going to be one King on night two of Jingle Bell Ball. The deafening screams when a certain Mr Mendes appeared on stage made it clear that a large majority of the crowd were there for him! Shawn delivered a phenomenal set, full of passion which the audience truly appreciated. He showcased incredible vocals and guitar playing but the ultimate highlight of the night was his global hit ‘Stitches’. Shawn took to the piano to begin the song, before playing his guitar and driving the crowd wild. It was incredible to hear everyone singing along, and it must have been a truly special moment for Shawn.
