will.i.am has denied reports that Fergie has permanently left the Black Eyed Peas.
This morning, June 2nd, various media outlets ran a story taking quotes from Will’s recent interview with UAE entertainment news magazine “Ahlan!”, claiming the London Bridge singer had quit the band.
“Since the beginning of Black Eyed Peas, we’ve always had amazing vocalists that appeared on the mic with us.” Will explains.
“People like Macy Gray, Esthero, Debi Nova, Fergie. On Elephunk, there were several females that appeared on that album.”
“Obviously Fergie was the featured female, but on songs like ‘Let’s Get it Started,’ it’s Noelle (Scaggs), and then Fergie, songs like ‘Latin Girls,’ it’s Debi Nova, and ‘Request Line,’ it’s Macy Gray.”
“We’ll always work with good females.”
This morning however, will.i.am appears to dispute the claims.
Taking to Twitter, Will wrote “Lies…”
“@Fergie is focusing on #DoubleDutchess & @BEP is doing #MastersOfTheSun…That doesn’t mean @fergie is out of the group #BEP4ever”

Will.i.am also says the band are “proud” of Fergie and that she wants to focus on her own music.
Fergie first joined the Black Eyed Peas back in 2002, appearing on the bands third studio album “Elephunk”.
The album, which featured the singles “Where Is The Love?”, “Shut Up”, “Hey Mama” and “Let’s Get It Started” went on to sell 9 million copies worldwide, with sales of 3.2 million in the United States alone.
The Black Eyed Peas will perform at Sunday’s “One Love Manchester” benefit concert in aid of the victims and those affected by last week’s terrorist attack.
