After a gruelling and emotional weekend at Judges Houses, the final 12 X Factor contestants have been chosen.
Last night we firstly watched the final 7 groups perform for Louis Walsh in Ibiza. However, the groups didn’t have to just impress Louis. They also had to convince guest judges, Alesha Dixon and Fleur East, that they deserved a place at live shows.
The final 3 groups going to Live Shows are Bradley and Ottavio, The Brooks and 5AM. Nevertheless, the drama has already begun for all 3 groups before the live shows have even started. All groups have changed their names. Bradley and Ottavio are now Bratavio; The Brooks have become Brooks Way and 5AM are 5 After Midnight.
Next we saw the girls sing for their mentor, Simon Cowell, and guest judges, Mel B and Emma Bunton, in Malibu. There were lots of surprises with all the girls raising their game; one of the public’s and Simon’s favourites, Caitlyn Vanbeck, forgetting her lyrics and Simon asking Samantha Lavery to take off her make-up and ‘remove her mask.’
However, in the end, Simon chose his final three: Emily Middlemas, Gifty Louise and Samantha Lavery, defying all odds after she didn’t make it through the Six Chair Challenge but was bought back as the wildcard.
Tonight we watched as Sharon chose her final three Over 25s with the help of Robbie Williams.
Despite not originally choosing either for the Judges Houses, Sharon chose Honey G and Saara Aalto to make up two of her category. Although she failed to make it past Judges Houses in 2013, Relley C took Sharon’s last place at live shows.
Lastly, it was Nicole and the boys’ turn. All the boys performed to Nicole and guest judge Calvin Harris in the French Riviera. Nicole made some controversial decisions including sending Christian Burrows home, whose audition is currently the most watched of this year. Additionally, Nicole was the third judge to put her wildcard through to the live shows.
Therefore Nicole’s final three boys performing at the live shows next week are Matt Terry, Ryan Lawrie and Freddy Parker.
Tune in to X Factor next Saturday at 8pm on ITV to see the final 12 perform live for the first time.
