Aussie band 5 Seconds of Summer – also known as 5SOS – have recently released the music video for their incredibly awe-inspiring new single “Old Me.”
The video features the band reminiscing on their past, showcasing a time before becoming the big stars they are today. We see the boys travelling via train where we’re met with flashbacks to their old selves. 5SOS gives their audience an insight into the remarkable journey they have experienced – from starting as young, high school companions with a dream, to performing in front of thousands upon thousands of adoring fans.
The ending of the video is enough to give you goosebumps! After seeing the trek they had to go through to get to where they are today, the video ends with old footage of the band performing at some of their first shows – high school talent shows, small bar gigs, old covers on YouTube – they then exit the train to find themselves on stage ready to perform in front of a stadium filled to the brim with their fans. It’s a story that every aspiring musician should look up to.
Not only did they drop this absolute masterpiece on us, but we were also treated to a behind the scenes video. Here, we see the band meeting their “mini-me” actors – who did a terrific job of playing the younger versions of each member. They even went back to “Annandale Hotel,” which was one of the very first venues they ever performed as a band.
5 Seconds of Summer are heading out on their UK tour in May – tickets can be found here. You can also pre-order their new album “CALM” here, which will be available to stream on the 27th March. “Old Me” is available to stream on all major streaming platforms now!
