One of the best boybands to follow on social media is Concept. Every Sunday at 7pm, they treat everyone to a new #ConceptAcousticSessions – a cover of some of the biggest songs around at the moment!
The band, made up of Karim Newton, Matt Goodenough, Nathan Gittens, Scott Dicks and Ben Selley, recently celebrated five years since they formed, and they show no signs of stopping just yet, as they continuously provide new covers for their fans on a weekly basis.
During this year, the boys have tackled some amazing songs, from Bieber to 5SOS, Little Mix to Fifth Harmony, whilst putting their own twist on these big hits every time.
Now here’s the tough bit. All of their covers are AMAZING but we’ve (just about) narrowed it down to six of our favourite #ConceptAcousticSessions from this year.
American Oxygen
This is one of the covers Concept did back in the summer. This is probably one of Rihanna’s lesser known songs, however it is still absolutely brilliant and the guys did a fantastic job of it!
Poison
We LOVE this version of Rita Ora’s “Poison”. Karim and Ben in particular really stand out on this song, however it suits all of their voices down to a tee. We’re sure that Rita would be loving this version too!
I’m In Love With A Monster
This Fifth Harmony track was featured in the film “Hotel Transylvania 2”. Again, the vocals are on point and the Concept boys truly put their stamp on the song with a really clever rap in the middle!
Levels
Definitely one of our favourite covers of theirs! They have such a great energy in this song, with Nathan’s vocals standing out on this track. Once again, there’s another brilliant rap by Karim (we need more raps in our lives okay!).
In The Night
Concept’s version of The Weeknd’s song is one of their most recent covers. Once again they have played to their strengths by choosing a great song which suits their voices perfectly. Scott, in particular, sounds great on this cover but stop winking at us okay, because we can’t cope with your cuteness.
Sorry
There has been SO many covers of Sorry, which is understandable as it’s one of the biggest and most successful songs of the year! (Cheers Biebs, we love you). However, I think Justin would agree that this is one of the best around. Again, it’s a song that suits their voices perfectly – we must point out Matt’s vocals at 2:12, it’s hard to put into words but it’s just WOW, heart eyes emoji etc.
Not only are these guys insanely talented, they’re also hilarious – make sure you watch their videos right til the end as they almost always do something funny in the outro!
