What else should I know about Kobi Marimi?

He was born in Ramat Gan, Israel and apparently started singing at the age of 13. He has been passionate about acting since he was young, majoring in Theatre from high school. He followed that on by studying for three years at the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio where he appeared in a variety of plays. He later won the “Promise of the Year” award in Israel’s Musical Theatre Festival from performing as Natan in Messiah Now which was also his Israeli Opera debut.

In 2018 he took part in HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion (which means “The Next Star For Eurovision” in English and is the original version of the international format Rising Star), even though he had no real professional music experience. During the Israeli national selection show, he gained popularity due to his unique style and vocal capabilities, eventually going on to win the show and being announced as the Israeli Eurovision 2019 representative. He later revealed his Eurovision song, titled “Home”, which is officially his debut single.
