Possibly the biggest movie of 2018, Avengers: Infinity War has made global history by earning an estimated $630m (£457m) on its opening weekend alone. The record was previously held by the first weekend record of $542m set by The Fate of the Furious which was released last year.
Although the film has not even been released in China yet, the Marvel film is also possibly going to take the all-time North American biggest opening weekend after making an estimated $250m, beating 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens which came in with $248m.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, it has been reported that Infinity War cost between $300m and $400m to make. The first film consists of a huge cast with Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Pratt, Tom Holland and lots more.

Some of the cast have shown their gratitude on their social media accounts, thanking the fans for their support. Josh Brolin, who plays the film’s mad titan Thanos, took to his Instagram account to thank all of the directors, writers, the cast, crew and of course, the fans.

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds also congratulated the Avengers on their success by posting a hilarious letter supposedly by Tony Stark/Ironman to Deadpool, declining his wish to join the Avengers.
From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers. pic.twitter.com/voJshTKx5E
