ITV’s Benidorm will come to an end when the tenth season’s final episode airs this Wednesday (May 2), it has been confirmed.
The creator of the show, Derren Litten, took to Twitter last night (April 29) to confirm that “Wednesday will be the last episode of Benidorm”.
“I created the series over 11 years ago, wrote it, guest starred in it and ended up directing it. It’s difficult to think what else there is to do,” Derren said in a tweet.
The hit ITV show, which earlier this year aired a ten-year anniversary documentary, is currently running for its tenth season, featuring some of its iconic characters such as Joyce Temple-Savage, Mateo Castellanos, Jacqueline Stewart and Kenneth Du Beke.
Previous cast included The Garveys, played by Steve Pemberton, Siobhan Finneran, Oliver Stokes and Sheila Reid, as well as cameos from the likes of Cilla Black, Su Pollard, Rustie Lee, Madness and Uri Geller.
The hit sitcom is heading off on tour later this year in Benidorm Live. Writer Derren Litten has created a new storyline set in Benidorm that will feature some of the show’s most beloved cast, including Jake Canuso, Janine Duvitski, Adam Gillen, Sherrie Hewson and Tony Maudsley.
