Cannon has just unveiled his latest single and accompanying music video for “College Friends”. The new alt rock tune follows last year’s singles “Worth It” and “Afterglows”.
“College Friends” explores the imbalance that can often happen between work and play. Managing time is a difficult task especially as a young 20 something just entering the workforce. Cannon brilliantly describes this in his latest single, “I found myself worrying about whether I was sacrificing too much time chasing my goals to spend time with my friends or sacrificing too much time with my friends to chase my goals. I soon came to realize that in trying to be two places at once, I ended up nowhere. Part of the process of graduating and growing up for me has been learning how to decide where to allocate my time,” he confides. “College Friends” is an enticing and striking blend of pop, electronic, alternative rock and even hip hop. The song is a must listen with churning gritty guitars, colorful synths and a catchy hook.
Cannon was born in South Carolina and attended college at Boston College. The young songwriter began making music in his dorm room, learning how to record and produce himself. Sharing his first musical release in 2019 “Water Glass”, the artist has racked up millions of plays on Spotify and even went viral on TikTok for sampling his baby nephew and a broken laptop in his song. Crafting relatable narratives about dating and life in your 20s, Cannon is an exciting artist to watch.
