Children in Need is a charity run by the BBC. The charity helps to raise money for disadvantaged young children in the UK. Over the years, Children in need have raised over £1 billion since 1980.
Every year in November, Children In Need brings us exciting entertainment which involves celebrities and heart-warming stories about young heroes. But what has Pudsey the bear got in store for us this year?
Well, exciting news!
This 39th year of Children In Need, celebrities have released an all-new charity album called ‘Got it covered.’ This features a variety of different song covers by celebrities such as Helena Bonham Carter who has starred in films such as Les Misérables, Harry Potter and The King’s Speech.
Jodie Whittaker also appears on the charity album, she currently plays the first female doctor in Doctor Who and has had this role since 2017. Furthermore, celebrities such as David Tennant, Himesh Patel and Luke Evans are also involved alongside many more celebrities.
Recently, on 23rd October 2019, Taylor Swift made a surprise visit to Abbey Road studio where the celebrities were recording their cover songs for the album.

Taylor Swift also retweeted a BBC one video where she made an unexpected visit to Abbey Road studios. She appeared at the studios while Shaun Dooley was recording her cover song called ‘Never Grow Up’.
The all-new charity album was released last week on the 1st November 2019 where it hit number one on the UK compilation albums chart. The album is available to download and stream across all platforms. You can listen to the album on Spotify, below:
