Claire Richards is going solo.
Claire Richards from Steps has released her own versions of two of Step’s classic songs, One For Sorrow and Deeper Shade of Blue.
Both are stripped back versions and showcase Claire’s amazing vocals.
Deeper Shade of Blue is hauntingly beautiful stripped back and really highlights how dark and heartbreaking the lyrics of the song are. It’s like listening to the big climatic number in a stage show where the protagonist really shows their inner emotions. You get swept away by it.

One For Sorrow is acoustic and is lovely. Really show cases the song that was the turning point for the band. Claire’s vocals are strong and warm . I can picture having this on in the winter, cuddled up on the sofa in a blanket, sipping a cup of tea. It’s lovely.
