D23: Expo has officially begun, with one of the first reveals of the event being Avengers Campus.
Avengers Campus will be a Marvel themed area in both Disneyland California Adventure and Walt Disney Studios in Disneyland Paris. The area is described as being an ‘immersive super hero-themed land… to enable our guests to join the Avengers to save the world’. It sounds perfect for Marvel fans both young and young at heart!
Opening in summer 2020, the site at Disney California Adventure will be situated in tandem with what was Tower of Terror, now re-themed to be Guardians of the Galaxy Mission: Breakout, with the rest of the Marvel universe taking over what was A Bug’s Land. What will actually be in the land is yet to be released, with Disney expected to announce more details over the D23 weekend. However, one confirmed attraction will be in the land with a Spiderman theme, taking over the previous ‘It’s Tough to be a Bug’ building.
Across the pond at Disneyland Paris, Hotel New York is receiving a superhero upgrade with a re-fit in the Marvel Avengers style.
Avengers Campus in Paris will also feature a ‘reimagined attraction’, where Rock N Roller Coaster will be transformed into an Iron Man themed ride opening 2020.
