Capital Eye are a four piece band from Bridlington that fit firmly into the Indie and ‘Britpop’ music category. The talented foursome are a band you should definitely be on the look out for as they start to gather momentum in the music world and become more and more popular as the days go by.
When you’re an upcoming band you have the faith that your band members are the absolute best and the Capital Eye lads are right up there among some of the best live artists we’ve heard. The talent comes from Scott Baxter on vocals and rhythm guitar, Matty Jackman on lead guitar and backing vocals, Joel Cash on drums and Danny Jackman on bass.

The bands Facebook page lists many well known names and bands as inspiration for their music, names such as Oasis, Blur, The Smith’s and Arctic Monkeys. Listening to their music you can hear Capital Eye have definitely been influenced by these well known bands due to similar musical identifiers – that said do not mistake us for saying they are an exact copy of their inspiration – the lads are far from. There’s something about the band we can’t put our finger on that makes them stand out as an individual band with a sound you don’t often hear in the charts today. Here’s to hoping Capital Eye can one day top the charts to give out some diversity to modern music.
Earlier this month Capital Eye were featured by BBC Introducing Humberside, Sine FM and previously this year the band were the warm up act for popular band ‘The Pigeon Detectives’ at Hull’s ‘Welly Club’. Capital Eye’s song ‘Ultimatum’ was chosen by BBC Music Introducing as their track of the week on 12th November. It sure looks like 2016 has been Capital Eye’s year!

The band have recently announced the very sad news that drummer, Joel Cash, who also goes by the name of ‘Cashy’ will be stepping down as Capital Eye’s drummer at the end of the year and the band are looking for a hard to find, worthy replacement. The band announced the news on their Facebook page to the surprise of many of their fans, the news was followed with a lot of support for Cashy’s bold decision.
The bands Facebook page is filled with gig details, photos and music – not to mention multiple funny videos showing the bands lighter side with pre-gig pranks towards one another. Similarly, their Twitter page is full of fan communication, back and forth banter and videos showing the band to be the funny and down to earth bunch that they all are. Check out their Facebook and Twitter and you’ll see for yourself exactly what we mean!
