DISCOVER: Indie-pop band :PM and their debut single ‘Grown Ups’

Here at CelebMix, we’ve always got space in our hearts for a brand new band and we hope you have too! Introducing :PM, the five-piece band from Yorkshire who are going to shake up your world with their indie-pop sound.

Made up of vocalist Dan Reynard (21), bassist Joe Morley (22), drummer Alex Boulton (21) and guitarists Josh Stockdale (20) and Harry Yates (20), :PM are more than just your average boyband. The band came to life after Harry and Josh founded the group during their formative school years. Dan was next to join, after Harry and Josh were impressed with his voice during a school assembly, followed by Alex who was Josh’s neighbour.

They were a four-piece for a while and during that time they won the Harrogate AMP Music Awards and got the opportunity to record in Johnny Depp’s studio in Los Angeles. The guys later went to university to pursue their passion for a career in music. Almost three years ago, Joe joined the band, turning :PM into a quintet who finally came into their own as a band.

After working on their sound in the studio, the band took inspiration from a number of their favourite artists, with each member bringing something unique to the table. Reminiscent of Rixton, 5SOS, and early Arctic Monkeys, :PM have created an exciting sound laden with plenty of cheeky Northern attitude.

:PM’s debut track ‘Grown Ups’ defines their sound perfectly. Hooking you in with an infectious beat, the track showcases some memorable guitar riffs and carries a generally feel-good vibe. Dan’s vocal also has an undeniable Yorkshire twang which, to us, makes the band incredibly lovable.

The music video also highlights that the band know how to have fun and are extremely likeable. Shot by :PM themselves, the video showcases their awesome friendship as they have a whale of a time with a handmade water slide and cause havoc in Toys’R’Us. Whilst the British weather wasn’t necessarily on their side during filming, the band clearly had a hilarious time regardless!

If ‘Grown Ups’ is anything to go by, then we predict that :PM have a bright future ahead of them. With catchy music, talent and bundles of personality on their side, they’re definitely the hottest new band on the block.

Find :PM on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. ‘Grown Ups’ is available now.
