Award-winning drum & bass duo Koven are set to be the face of leading motor brand Mobil 1’s first-ever music campaign. The partnership kicks off with Koven’s new single “All We Needed” featuring Katie (of Koven). The release is accompanied by a music video scheduled to drop the upcoming week. The visuals see the band driving a vintage Porsche around the streets of downtown LA.
“All We Needed” is a creative fusion of pop and edm where Koven made sure to highlight all of their strenghts: polished vocals, unexpected drops, and catchy rythms. The new single proves that Koven is a force to be reckon with, and a great choice for Mobil 1 to collaborate with, as they are authentic, and imaginative musicians.
Koven shares, “‘All We Needed’ is about enjoying and appreciating the simplest things in life. There is so much beauty in a simple moment that we often pass by without noticing. At the time it doesn’t feel like anything, but you will nostalgically look back on it with a full heart and realize it’s moments like that that carry meaning. Something as simple as watching TV with the person you love and holding their hand, or driving on an open road with your friends on a sunny day, not really going anywhere, but sometimes that’s all you need.“
Mobil 1 aims to celebrate the natural connection between music and driving by showing how a song can provide an escape or a new adventure when you’re on the road. Video game Rocket League will further the car tie-in, with the single launching on the in-game radio and as a free Player Anthem globally. Gameplay clips will appear in the music video and the single will soundtrack Rocket League’s World Championship Series next month.
Koven’s anticipated EP, ‘Higher Ground (Part 1)’ follows on August 4, making this the last song to debut before the drop. It’s a major moment not only for Koven but for dance music to be at the center of a global brand initiative.
