We've come to a point where, if we don't act now, we might not be able to reverse the damage we've done. As 2016 comes to a close and 2017 creeps over the horizon, let's pledge to make better choices for our planet, for wildlife and for the generations who come next. Whether it's eating less meat, switching lights off, volunteering and donating, or ditching single use plastics, we can all do one small thing to make big differences to the environment. We can all be WILDLIFE WARRIORS in 2017 and beyond. ???????? @australiazoo
The media personality and former star of Whale Wars tagged her high-profile friends to spread the message, including actor Haley Joel Osment, SNL alum Chris Kattan, presenter Tim Dormer, environmentalist Adrian Grenier and local friend and 5SOS drummer Ashton Irwin.
Sursara, who spent time living on board an anti-whaling vessel in Antarctica, suggested “ditching single use plastics” and reducing meat consumption as viable ways to make small differences in 2017.
Her message to inspire change for the environment is impressed to more than 190,000 followers on Instagram and was accompanied by a picture of a rescue joey cared for by herself and staff at the Australia Zoo wildlife hospital, represented by Bindi Irwin.
Moving forward, Sursara has hinted at her own pilot series about wildlife and eco-tourism. A title for Project Wild with Elissa Sursara appears on IMDb as “in production” for the new year.
