In an exclusive interview with CelebMix, ROSIE opens up about her music, touring and more.
What can you tell us about your brand new single “Next Life” and the inspiration behind it?
“Next Life” is about navigating the highs and lows of mental health, and reminding myself that no matter how bad it gets, there is always hope in the idea of a next life.
What was it like to film the music video for this track?
I was lucky to work with such an incredible crew, from director Chris Phelps to my amazing stylist Matsine, the entire group was supportive and embracing of my all-natural brand while still making me feel like a confident superstar.
You’re on tour with Chelsea Cutler! Are there any cities you’re looking forward to visiting and what else are you excited for?
I’m currently in Dallas on the tour! I knew from the start that this would be a perfect first tour experience for me, because everyone is equally as great humans as they are musicians and I couldn’t ask for a better team to have by my side for these next two months! I’d say I’m most excited to play Boston and visit my old college town!
Your viral single “Never the 1” has over 22 million streams! What has changed since that track blew up and is it still surreal to see the streams and support?
Since “Never the 1,” my life has done a full 180. I went from being a heartbroken college student to a signed young artist navigating her way through the music industry. I couldn’t be more grateful for that song and every opportunity it has provided for me.
Who would you like to collaborate with when it comes to songwriting, producing or a duet?
I’m manifesting a couple collaborations for sure: Noah Kahan, Julia Michaels and Lennon Stella for sure. I have so many more in mind!
What else can fans look forward to in the near or distant future?
Fans can expect a lot of growth from me in the near and distant future. I am putting all my energy into my artistry now, which means really finding confidence in my songwriting, my purpose, my physical appearance and my own unique sound.
