Lady Gaga to release reworked ‘Joanne’ track as single and premiere new video

Lady Gaga has announced plans to release a new piano version of the title track from her latest album Joanne, alongside an accompanying music video. The new song is expected to premiere ahead of this weekend’s Grammy Awards, where Gaga will be performing.

The song was inspired by Lady Gaga’s late aunt Joanne Germanotta, who died aged nineteen due to complications that arose from lupus.

Speaking of the new song’s release on Twitter, Lady Gaga said: “The Lupus Research Alliance is receiving a donation in honour of Joanne Stefani Germanotta. Please consider a donation to this tremendous organization.”

As well as announcing the reworked song and video, Gaga took to Instagram to tease a clip of the new video. Although no official release date has been set, it’s almost certain that Mother Monster will perform the track at this year’s Grammy Awards and release the video alongside it.
