Goldfrapp have announced the release of their first album in four years.
The London based duo will release their seventh album ‘Silver Eye’ on March 31st.
The album will feature 10 new songs, including Zodiac Black, Moon In Your Mouth, Triggerman and Ocean.
The lead single from the record is a brooding electro thumper titled ‘Anymore’ and is described as being a “revitalisation of their electronic roots.”
Goldfrapp, made up of Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, are famous for hits such as Ooh La La, Number 1 and A&E.
Alison Goldfrapp recently said of the new album “we’ve never liked repeating ourselves. Often we react to things we’ve just done.”
“We like the spontaneity of not knowing. It’s only through the process that we start to figure out what it is.”
“The fans who have stuck with us are the ones who embrace that idea and are excited by the thought that they don’t know quite what to expect next.”
Will added “I think writing an album is like being lost in a wood. You’re trying to figure out an interesting path.”
“You don’t know whether it’s going to be a dead end or somewhere interesting and you never know when to stop because around the corner some beautiful vista might open up.”
Taking to Twitter earlier on today, the group announced they play a one off show at The Roundhouse in London on March 27th to showcase their new material.
Tickets for the gig go on pre-sale this Wednesday (January 25th) and general sale on Friday (January 27th).
