On the 9th May the Headstones original members Hugh Dillon, Trent Carr & Tim White found themselves in the position that after 22yrs they were having to look for a new drummer, after Dale Harrison released an official statement saying that “lt is with mixed emotion that I announce my departure from the Headstones drum chair to make way for other endeavours. It has been a 22 year adventure that has now come to a close for me with the band.“
Since then some fans have voiced their recommendations and thoughts on who in their opinion should or could be up to the mark in regards to performing the bands unmistakable raw, hard core punk beats with such names as Johnny Fay of the Tragically Hip being bandied around as a temporary replacement and Derek Downham who played with Dillon in one of his band’s the Hugh Dillon Redemption Choir.
But yesterday evening all was revealed with this announcement coming from the band via their Facebook page and Twitter account indicating that not only will his live Headstones debut comes this weekend, as the band are on the same line-up as The Cult and will perform at the Sound Of Music Festival in Burlington, Ontario, but he will also play on the bands new album which is in the works right now.
