Out now via his burgeoning Tel Aviv-based imprint Joy Records, Moon marks the fourth and final release of HEVI LEVI’s No Landing Gear series, following the widespread positive response to the first three singles, No Landing Gear, Eris and Dysnomia, back in 2022. A veritable masterclass in modern, progressive techno courtesy of a producer at the very top of his game right now, HEVI LEVI’s intergalactic new offering exudes raw, energetic dynamism across its six-and-a-half-minute duration as he combines pulsating basslines, eerie synth leads and cutting-edge production techniques to deliver one of his finest creations to date.

Thanks for having me.
For those of our readers who are not familiar with your music – could you tell a few words about yourself?
I’m an electronic DJ and producer for many years now, founder of Joy Group and I live in Tel Aviv (the best city in the world ;) My music is a borderline between Techno and House with a lot of trance-ish melodies.
You recently shared a brand new single, “Moon” – can you share a bit more about this project?
‘Moon’ is the last out of 4 tracks project called “No Landing Gear” I made this project to emphasis the fact that it’s not about where you come from or how wealthy you are or nothing else. Once you have found your passion nothing will stop you and no place is unreachable, not even the moon.
The tracks in this project are super melodic progressive house and made mostly by analog synths.
“Moon” is released via your very own Tel Aviv-based imprint Joy Records – what inspired you to create your own label?
I wanted to have the ability to support artists with their music, 10 years ago I felt that the labels industry was not open enough to young and promising artists, so I made one.
Backing up the new single, you also share remixes from Ten Walls, TOMBOYZ, Shiku, Amir Telem, and 2BAnnounced. Can you tell us what your collaboration with these artists looked like? Also, which one is your favorite remix on “Moon”?
Some of the artists are my label’s artists and the others are just super talented musicians whose approach to music making I love. Each remix is aiming for a different vibe and state, for example while 2BAnnounced remix is for an underground techno club at 4am, Ten Walls remix is more Ibiza sunset vibes, so I really love them all equally.
If you could collaborate with anyone in the world, who would that be?
Rufus Du Sol, Carl Cox, Depeche Mode, basically musicians in a different genre than mine, creating a real collab is based on bringing different vibes to the track.
The EP is accompanied by the release of a charity T-shirt, with all profits going to UNITED24 — an organisation which delivers funds to Ukraine. Will you tell us more about that?
It’s not this EP, the release that came out before Moon and called “Mad World” is the one that 100% if it’s income and Merchandise goes to build Ukraine, I believe that as artists we have the power to make a better and more beautiful world even if it’s a mad one.
We also shot a video showing the Ukraine situation, we created super high quality Mad World T-shirts and all streaming and sales profits goes to UNITED24 that support Ukraine.
What other passions do you have other than making music?
My real passion is happy people, music is my means of distribution, but beside that I love to spend time with my family, I kickbox almost every day and help other artists to find their spark.
Tell us more about your plans for 2023!
My main goals are to play my music to as many people as I can, 2022 was the year that I built my team, both for Joy and for my own project HEVI LEVI, in 2023 I’m focused in my music and my sound, and I know that it’s about to blow up :)
I also hope to continue playing on the stages that I like to the people I love.
