If you’ve been to see Little Mix on the UK leg of their Get Weird tour, you’ll already be fairly familiar with JAGMAC. If not, then prepare to get acquainted with pop music’s next big thing!
JAGMAC are made up of brothers and sisters Jared, Angelique, Gabriel, Manjo, Alyssa, and CJ (they used their initials to create JAGMAC, clever eh?), and are between 15 and 24 years of age. The siblings originate from Baltimore, USA and have already started to set the UK alight with their catchy choruses, stunning vocals and spectacular dance routines.
This band isn’t limited to just signing and dancing either! Their talents also include choreography, song writing, rapping, playing multiple instruments including piano, guitar and drums, sign language and martial arts! Never get in a fight with JAGMAC – every member of the group holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, four of whom are also world champions in the Philippine martial art, Eskrima!
So how did JAGMAC come about? The band were actually discovered whilst perfroming a series of hometown gigs. There was such a buzz about them, that music executives from De Angelis Entertainment went to check them out and ended up signing them on the spot! The rest is history, and since then the band have been working in the studio with phenomenal names such as Bryan Todd (Jordin Sparks and Miley Cyrus), Lauren Christy (formerly “The Matrix” whose credits include Avril Lavigne, Chris Brown, Katy Perry, David Bowie and Rihanna) and Pam Sheyne (Christina Aguilera). More recently, they have been writing in the UK with Shelly Poole and Ben Adams. With such huge names behind them, it is certain that JAGMAC are destined for global success.
They recently released their debut single ‘So Good’, which they’ve been performing every night on the Get Weird tour. The catchy single was written with Sonny J Mason (Cee-Lo Green, Aston Merrygold, Little Mix). The band have also released the video for ‘So Good’ which was shot in their hometown of Baltimore by Carlton Colby Designs. The jazzy video sees the siblings take on a 9-5 as waiters and waitresses, before clocking off and transforming into a world of glitz and glamour. The video has something for everyone – singing, rapping and plenty of cool moves. Can we be an honorary sibling so that we can join the band please?
It is clear to see why the high-energy band have been wowing crowds up and down the country on Little Mix’s tour! There’s definitely a gap in the market for JAGMAC – their retro sound, catchy beats and unique dance moves are a recipe for success and we can’t wait to hear more from them.
‘So Good’ is available to download now. Check out the video for it below.
