BLACKPINK’s JENNIE is turning heartbreak into high art with “Love Hangover”, her latest solo single—and it’s as intoxicating as its title suggests. Joining forces with rising alt/indie star Dominic Fike, the BLACKPINK star unveils a sultry, emotionally raw mid-tempo ballad that beautifully captures the dizzying highs and gut-wrenching lows of a toxic romance.
Dropped on January 31 at 2 p.m. KST via ODDATELIER and Columbia Records, the track offers a tantalizing preview of JENNIE’s highly awaited debut album, Ruby. “We say it’s over / But I keep f–king with you / And every time I do, I wake up with this love hangover,” JENNIE croons, her voice dripping with yearning. Fike echoes her turmoil in the male verse, turning the song into a hauntingly beautiful duet that perfectly captures the bitter-sweet, relentless loop of love’s intoxication.

The music video, directed by the visionary duo Bradley & Pablo—renowned for their work with Harry Styles and Lil Nas X—brings “Love Hangover” to life with striking visuals and a surreal narrative. It follows JENNIE through a string of ill-fated dates, each spiraling into chaos. Starring Riverdale’s Charles Melton as her on-screen lover, the video depicts a nightmarish cycle of doomed romance, topped with monster attacks, disastrous dinners, and an eerie sense of inevitability. Shot against the vibrant backdrop of Mexico City, it blends dark humor with bold aesthetics, making it one of JENNIE’s most conceptually ambitious projects to date.
Upon release, Love Hangover made an immediate impact, soaring to No. 1 on iTunes in 20 countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, India, Armenia, the Philippines, Brazil, Mexico, and Peru. The official music video is currently the No. 2 trending video worldwide and charting in 54 countries. As the third single from Ruby—following the success of “Mantra” and the surprise drop “Zen“—the track further solidifies JENNIE’s dominance as a solo powerhouse in the industry. And with an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, Doechii, FKJ, and Kali Uchis, her upcoming 15-track album is shaping up to be a genre-blurring testament to her artistic evolution.
And she’s not stopping there. Adding to the mounting anticipation, JENNIE has announced The Ruby Experience, an exclusive three-city event celebrating the album’s release. The event kicks off with two performances at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater (March 6 and 7), followed by a stop at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall (March 10), before concluding in Seoul (March 15). Tickets for the U.S. dates go on sale today at 10 a.m. local time.
With Ruby marking her first full-length solo project since her breakout 2018 hit “SOLO“, anticipation couldn’t be higher. But if “Love Hangover” is anything to go by, JENNIE isn’t just reclaiming the spotlight—she’s commanding it.
