The last time we saw Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith perform alongside one another, they were both just kids figuring out how to deal with being famous. Now, years later, they’ve reunited at Madison Square Garden on Bieber’s Purpose tour.
On Tuesday night at Justin’s Madison Square Garden show in New York, the young star brought some nostalgia to the concert by bringing out Jaden Smith, 18, to perform with him in front of thousands of fans. Both artists have done a lot of growing up since they last performed together on stage, going in opposite directions in the industry, however, their bond has remained. After the performance, Bieber took to Instagram and posted the follow picture hugging Jaden in front of a sea of adoring fans. The caption reads, “Love you brother man”. Smith followed this by sharing the same image with his Instagram followers, with the caption, “I Love You Big Bro Thank You”.
Jaden, whom has caused quite a stir in the fashion industry over the past few years, looked as cool as they come in a black hooded top and trousers, rounding off his look with a Jason Lee-esque pineapple dreadlocks hairstyle. Justin on the other hand, stuck to his typical style of a plain white t-shirt, blue ripped jeans and a hooded top.
The duo have been pretty close since collaborating on one of the best selling songs of 2010, covering numerous songs online in 2011 and 2012, including Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinkin Bout You’, and partying together on a regular basis. Jaden is the son of famous actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. In the late 1980’s, Will achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince, which ultimately led to the popular NBC television series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It’s clear to see that Jaden is following in his father’s footsteps, to acclaim and joy from all.
