On ‘My House’, Kitten let you into life as a band during quarantine in a record for the times.
Written alongside rising exciting electro producer gupi and self-recorded in the band’s LA home, the single sees lead-singer Chloe Chaidez muse on life in lockdown over a fresh sonic direction for the band.
“We wrote ‘My House’ during the early days of quarantine,” Chaidez reveals. “Nobody knew exactly how to feel, and a sense of disassociation definitely bubbles within the song.”
“The reversion to childhood behaviors, the misplaced frustrations, the nagging feeling of being a plot point in a disaster movie – we put all of this into our song because, well, there’s not much else to do right now. That said, we’re so grateful to have each other and our music to keep us sane!”
The first taste of new KITTEN music this year, ‘My House’ follows on from 2019’s acclaimed Goodbye Honeymoon Phase EP. Known for their rowdy live sets and electric frontwoman, the LA outfit are revered for their unique offerings.
As well as touring alongside Waterparks, the band share Chaidez with Charli XCX kick-ass girlband project Nasty Cherry.
