‘Mariners Apartment Complex’ was produced by Jack Antonoff and is the start to her sixth studio album, expected in early 2019
Lana Del Rey premiered her latest piece of musical work as Annie Mac’s ‘Hottest Record’ on Wednesday 12th September 2018. Annie Mac also caught up with the singer-songwriter just after premiering the new Del Rey single, discussing upcoming projects. In true ‘Hottest Record’ tradition, Mac played the new single back to back after revealing she just couldn’t stop listening to it, it’s that good.
Lana Del Rey revealed to the Radio DJ that her sixth studio album will be released sometime in 2019 but before she releases it, she has a book of poetry she would like to get out into the world. Details on both the album and book are quite unknown at the moment, but Del Rey has always been an artist to do things in her own time, which is why we love her so much.

Before premiering ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’, Annie Mac played Del Rey’s 2011 breakthrough single, ‘Video Games’ and her 2014 Ultraviolence lead single, ‘West Coast’. Throughout their phone interview, Del Rey also revealed the meaning behind her new single, stating the song came about after a late night walk of hers.
Jack Antonoff, who has worked with the likes of Lorde and Taylor Swift, worked on ‘Mariners Apartment Complex’ alongside Lana Del Rey. He is also rumoured to feature heavily on Del Rey’s upcoming sixth studio album as they have been working in the studio together frequently this year.
