Congratulations are in order to the one and only Little Mix! Little Mix’s achievements just keep getting bigger and bigger, and their latest one breaks a long standing chart record!
For those of you that don’t know, Little Mix are a girl group that was formed on the British television show ‘The X Factor’ in 2011. Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson auditioned as solo artist but did not make it individually. They were put in a group together, originally named ‘Rhythmix.’ They were the first and only group to ever win the competition.
Little Mix are now the only certified girl group in Australia, after their new single ‘Hair’ went platinum.
The girls have beaten the Spice Girl’s previous record of 16 certified singles. This isn’t the first time that the girls have beaten the Spice Girls on the charts. Their debut album scored higher in America all the way back in 2013.
Their last album, ‘Get Weird’ skyrocketed in the UK, being certified double platinum. The first single from the album, ‘Black Magic’ spent 3 weeks at no.1 when it was released last summer!
The girls have started working on their fourth studio album, and we heard that their are some very exciting collaborations on it! It is rumored to be related in November of this year!
