Michael Clifford turns 20

November 20 was not a day that 5 Seconds of Summer fans were particularly looking forward. November 20 meant that it was their beloved “son” Michael Clifford’s birthday –– which meant that he would be turning a whole year older. Even Michael himself seemed a bit apprehensive about his birthday, taking to Twitter to lighten the mood the day before.

However, the 20th has finally come and gone, and Michael is indeed a year older –– an incredible 20 years old.

The singer/guitarist was flooded with birthday wishes from 5SOS fans on social media, where #HappyBirthdayMichael trended for most of the day. Many of his friends also took the time to wish him a happy birthday –– even Liz Hemmings, who is fellow band member Luke Hemmings’s mother, acknowledged that the newly-dyed-red-haired guitarist was “no longer a teen”.

To top it all off, 5 Seconds of Summer’s first ever concert DVD “How Did We End Up Here? Live at Wembley Arena” was released on the same day. CelebMix readers may remember a past article featuring Michael’s scary incident where his hair partially caught on fire due to the stage’s pyrotechnics; the concert film features the exact same concert where the accident happened.

It doesn’t really matter though. Michael is a-okay, and hopefully fans can expect plenty of fun birthday party photos and videos appearing soon. After all, Michael’s birthday plus a concert DVD equals a justified need for some 5SOS celebrations.

We hope you had a great birthday, Michael! Thanks for being an inspiring musician to music-lovers everywhere.
