MTV Movie Awards is back this Sunday

The MTV Movie Awards turn a quarter of a century this Sunday, April 10 and even though we’ll be watching this Sunday, for the first time, the award show will be filmed the day before at the Warner Brothers backlot in Burbank, California.  We’re expecting some updates from social media, but hopefully not too many spoilers!  Taking us along this cinematic celebration of film will be co-hosts, Kevin Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Even though this is an award show commending films, we will be serenaded by Ariana Grande and Halsey.  After all, music does play a big role in films!  Ariana is set to perform Dangerous Woman and Halsey will be singing Castle, her single from The Huntsman: Winter’s War soundtrack.

Some of the stars from the upcoming, Suicide Squad, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto will be giving us a preview of the movie which is set to hit theaters August 5.

Being honored with the Generation Award is Will Smith!  It is only right that Will be presented with this award because “MTV was a part of every phase of Will’s career and he has been a huge part of what defined the MTV culture from the beginning,” says executive producer, Casey Patterson.  From his movies, to music, and of course, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air, we’re looking forward to watching him be honored at this year’s MTV Movie Awards’ 25th anniversary.

Which film will be given the outstanding award of Movie of the Year?  And now in our best presenter’s voice, and the nominees are: Avengers: Age of Ultron, Creed, Deadpool, Jurassic World, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Straight Outta Compton.  With such high ratings and so much talk about each one of these films, all of them are deserving!  Be sure to catch the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 10 at 8pm.
